Los Bukis
Mexican group led by singer and songwriter Marco Antonio Solís, who wrote “Tu cárcel” while visiting Torreón.

During a tour with Los Bukis, Marco Antonio Solís found himself exhausted in a hotel in central Torreón. He has recalled writing “Tu cárcel” there in 1986, at a time of physical and emotional strain. When he returned to perform in Torreón in 2025, he identified the hotel as Galicia.
The song addresses someone who is leaving in search of a different life. The singer does not pretend to be perfect; instead, he insists that the affection being left behind was sincere. Los Bukis recorded the song for Me volví a acordar de ti, taking a composition begun in a hotel room to listeners far beyond La Laguna.
Solís has spoken of Torreón with gratitude because of that unexpected moment of writing. For a listener who knows the song, the city is not named in its verses, but it remains part of the story of how those verses came into being.
